The Hemorrphagic Staff is a craftable Hardmode summon weapon made by upgrading the Esophageous Staff with Hemorrhagic Fluid. It summons a miniature Hemorrphage with only one arm that floats behind the player, attempting to hover above enemies to hit them with its arm as it bounces and only taking up three quarters of a minion slot. Attempting to summon additional minions instead gives the summoned Hemorrphmini additional arms, allowing it to deal more damage; when it reaches six arms by taking up 4.5 minion slots, it will also begin to spit globs of blood onto the foe it's floating over to briefly but constantly inflict Bleeding Out, reducing affected enemies' defense by 25 as opposed to Ichor's 20. Like other minions, the summoned Hemorrphmini is invincible and follows the player for an unlimited amount of time, unless the player dies, exits the world, summons a replacement minion, or cancels the buff.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. While Mythical provides the widest array of stat bonuses, these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage mythical has over ruthless is knockback.

Trivia

  • As Bleeding Out cannot be applied to players, it uses the Goldfish Explorer's buff icon as a placeholder.
