Salthoppers are an enemy found in the Salt Caves. It acts similarly to a slime, hopping about and attempting to attack the player by jumping into them. The salthopper always alternates between two long jumps and one high jump. Unlike most slimes, salthoppers sink in water, but when jumping they still float to the surface.

In Expert Mode, it will inflict the Desiccating debuff, adding four seconds of the debuff with each hit and serving as an alternative source of the debuff that makes the Salt Caves even more dangerous to explore.
