Cone Shells are a Hardmode enemy found in the Ocean biome. They move slowly along the ground and don't react to the player's presence just like Snails, but contact them will afflict the player with Cone Venom, completely preventing them from moving (including jumping, dropping through platforms, and using hooks or mounts) and dealing rapid damage for a short time. While they do not drop any items when killed, when below 50% health they can be caught with a Bug Net to produce a Handheld Cone Shell.

When a player dies from Cone Venom, their death message will read "<name of player> was killed by a snail."
