Nest Guardians are a Pre-Hardmode enemy found in the Underground Desert. A larger and more dangerous variant of the Rattler, it functions in much the same way, rattling its tail as a warning as the player approaches and lunging when they get too close to bite for heavy damage and inflict Poisoned. When below half of its maximum health, it will release several eggs (four in Normal Mode and seven in Expert Mode) that deal no damage, bouncing around for a while before eventually hatching into Rattlers.
