The Scouring Staff is a Hardmode summon weapon that is dropped by Illuminant Scourers. It summons a friendly Illuminant Scourer sentry that aims at nearby enemies, firing lasers at them. While it instantly rotates to face its target when not firing, it is locked in place while shooting, so it may be less effective against fast-moving enemies.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. While Mythical provides the widest array of stat bonuses, these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage mythical has over ruthless is knockback.
