The Alkaline Orb is a Hardmode orb that is dropped rarely by Alkalabominations. When used, it summons a mass of alkaline wraiths tethered to the orb by a twisted mass of tails, which constantly shoots out small wraiths upwards. The small wraiths are affected by gravity and will attempt to curve to fall onto the cursor, inflicting Corroding and reducing their defense for a short time, and will phase through the ground and fall offscreen if they miss. Like all orbs, the channeled minion will only exist for as long as the ⚒ Use / Attack key is held, disappearing immediately when it is released.

Its best modifier is Demonic. Damage is the only statistic worth improving, since speed only affects the initial summon rather than the channeled minion, added with the minion's inability to deal critical hits. Also, it cannot receive knockback affecting modifiers.
