Not to be confused with Chainsaws, a tool type.

The Chain Saw is a flail-type melee weapon dropped by the Gigabat. It launches a spinning saw blade on a chain, which acts as a launched flail similarly to the Flairon and thus cannot be held out and spun. When the saw hits an enemy, it will attach to them until the attack button is released, the enemy gets too far away, or the enemy is defeated, dealing rapid damage that won't break off even if a block is between the player and the enemy. The saw itself cannot travel through blocks, however.

Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both increase the average damage output equally.
