The Ratlatl is a craftable Pre-Hardmode atlatl. Any projectiles fired by it will be turned into Poison Darts, providing an upgrade over the basic Wooden Atlatl in terms of damage both on the weapon itself and for the ammo most likely to be used with it at its position in the progression.

Its best modifier is Legendary or Unreal. The main difference is that legendary increases the size of the atlatl, which has a linear effect on the projectile velocity, while unreal increases the velocity itself. Despite a slight difference between size and velocity, both modifiers should retain a similarly effective DPS.
