The Starbalest is a craftable Pre-Hardmode ranged weapon. While it resembles a repeater, it uses Fallen Stars as ammunition, making it more comparable to the Star Cannon; however, instead of firing one star at a time, holding the button will charge up one star for every third of a second it is held, firing them all at once when released. The stars fire at highly variable angles, making precise aiming difficult, so if resources allow it is best to charge up to the weapon's maximum of 20 stars held to maximize damage output.

Its best modifier is Demonic, since it deals no knockback and thus cannot receive modifiers affecting it. Deadly is also a viable alternative, with a lesser damage bonus but having an advantage in speed, which does influence the Starbalest's charge rate.
