The Axolatl is a Pre-Hardmode atlatl obtained rarely by fishing in a Forest biome. It has a 50% chance to launch a bubble projectile instead of throwing a dart; this will not consume any ammunition, and the bubble will quickly slow to a stop and slowly float upwards.

Its best modifier is Legendary or Unreal. The main difference is that legendary increases the size of the atlatl, which has a linear effect on the projectile velocity, while unreal increases the velocity itself. Despite a slight difference between size and velocity, both modifiers should retain a similarly effective DPS.
