The Cosmic Communicator is a pet summoning item that has a 25% chance of dropping from the Star Construct in Master Mode. It summons a small Star Construct to follow the player. If the player gets too far away, it will transform into its star-shaped alternate form to fly after them while spinning, and will also fold up and fall asleep if left idle for long enough.
