The E.M.P. is a Hardmode melee weapon that is dropped by The Polarities. When used, it releases a large wave of electromagnetic energy that expands outwards over a very large radius, passing through terrain and rapidly hitting any enemies it touches. Enemies closer to the center of the wave will take more damage as a result of it lingering over them for longer.

Its best modifier is Legendary.
