The 2.5 update of Aequus focused on implementing more content, balancing, bug fixes, and other general features.
Additions
- Added the "Aequus" Mod Menu, Which activates the Glimmer event's background effect on the title screen!
- Added the Dragon's Last Breath, an upgrade of the Wretchedness candle
- Added Malediction, a special accessory which buffs ghost minions in a special way... Sold by the Occultist
- Added the Bottle O' Spirits, sold by the Occultist at night
- Added the Keg O' Spirits, an upgrade of the Bottle O' Spirits and Bloodied Bucket (+ a keg)
- Added Death's Embrace...
- Added the Shadow Veer, an accessory which grants your ghost minions the ability to do dashes at enemies
- Added the Souljoint Cuffs, an accessory which makes your ghost minions bind to enemies after dealing a contact damage hit to them
- Added Nature's Cruelty, a sidegrade of Nature's Gift which makes your ghost minions absorb 25% of damage taken
- Added the Bloody Tearstone, dropped by Blood Moon fishing enemies
- Added Steak Eyes, an upgrade of the High Steaks crafted with Bloody Tearstones
- Added Victor's Reward, dropped by beating any boss Flawlessly
- Added the Heartshatter Necklace, a combination of the Panic Necklace and Flashway Necklace
- Added the Osseous Ring, an upgrade of the Bone Hawk Ring and Pandora's Box
- Added the Phoenix Ring, an upgrade of the Bone Hawk Ring and Magma Stone
- Added the Block-s-ing Glove, dropped by the Carpenter on death...
- Added Crate Bait, can be obtained from the Angler or Biome Crates
- Added the Necromancy Potion, which is the ghost minion version of the Summoner and Sentry potion
- Added Hueshift Dye
- Added Ancient Scorching Dye, Ancient Frostbite Dye, and Ancient Tidal Dye
- Added the Gravity Chest
- Added a banner for the Blood Mimic
- Added the Manacle Herb, blooms during the morning, unless it's raining
- Added Manacle, Mistral, and Moray seeds
- Transformed the 'Wow-zer' Hat into Nightfall, obtained in the same way as the 'Wow-zer' Hat, it is a completely different weapon which increases the gravity of your enemies to deadly levels...
- Added a few "telegraphs" to Crabson's attacks, and made his smash attack have a smoother animation
- Added recipes for converting Hexoplasm into Ectoplasm, and vice versa
- Items upgradable at the Gore Nest now have a physical recipe you can view at the Guide and such! (However, you still need to do the event in order to obtain the item! Even though the recipe doesn't mention such event...)
- Added flower packets to the Silk Pickaxe's dataset (the packets sold by the Dryad), allowing you to collect flower packets from their corresponding plant tile
- The Angler now has some dialogue before taking a Legendary Fish, so it is no longer an instantaneous, awkward interaction
- Added an Empowered version of the Sentry buff
- Added unique Princess happiness dialogue for Aequus' town NPCs
- Added unique dialogue for many town NPCs for the Glimmer event
- Over 300+ lines of text have been written or re-written! This includes every Bestiary entry, happiness quotes, shop quotes, and more!
- Added a Bestiary entry for the Physicist's Drone pet
- Cross Mod feature: As ghost minions, enemies from the Polarities Mod's Pestilence and Rapture will no longer flee outside of the event
- Cross Mod feature: The "Familiar" pet now supports custom race skins from Mr Plague's Authentic Races mod!
Changes
- The Portal Gun and Gravity Globe are now obtained from the Physicist instead of the Moon Lord. Added configurations to disable this vanilla change incase of mod-conflicts or personal preferences
- The Frost Potion can no longer be used with the Warmth Potion
- The Bloodthirst Potion can no longer be used with the Heartreach Potion
- The Sentry (and Necromancy) Potion, and Summoning Potion, can no longer be used with each other
- The "Bunny" item will no longer gain the "May be upgraded at a Gore Nest..." tooltip if you are in Hardmode but haven't completed the Demon Siege
- The High Steaks now consumes 1 to do its effect instead of 10, to make it more appealing and usable
- The Cauterizer's slash projectile can no longer phase through blocks
- Ghost minions should no longer be used in "Counting" calculations regarding active enemies/NPCs, meaning that certain things like spawn conditions and whatnot will not take ghosts into account
- The extra bolts spawned by Insurgency will no longer change the prioritized minion target to what they hit
- Made the "Vile Tendrils" of the Triacanthorn emit glowing particles aswell, so you can actually see them, and it now fires its thorns while extending instead of at the very end after its finished extending
- The Glimmer Event's sword's vertical position check now takes world size into account, meaning it should spawn on floating islands less in Medium/Large worlds
- Ammo Renewal Pack and Mendshroom are no longer direct drops from Crabson, and are instead crafted with Aquatic Energy
- Updated the Crown of Blood's tooltip to actually reflect its abilities
- The Frost Potion now provides resistance to many more fire-related projectiles, like Golem's fireballs, Hostile Flaming Arrows, Betsy's Fireballs/Flamebreath, Geyser/Flamethrower Traps, ect
- Corruption Hellfire, Crimson Hellfire, and the fire debuff applied by the Ultimate Sword now interact with the Oiled debuff
- The Liquid Gun should now support Weapon-Out type mods w/ its unique texture swapping
- The Crown of Darkness and Crown of the Grounded now turn gray in the Accessory Slots while their abilities aren't active
- Omega Starite and Dust Devil's Treasure Bag can no longer drop Developer sets, since they are both pre-Mech bosses
- Davy Jones's Anchor should now work better in Multiplayer, as it will force attached enemies to sync extra often
- Right Clicking while holding a "Necromancy Scepter" now teleports all owned ghost-minions to your current location
- Necromancy debuffs will now always be inflicted to enemies, meaning enemies which you cannot convert will still suffer damage over time
- Enemies which can be converted into ghost minions on death now spawn special indicator particles
- The "Dedicated Item" tooltip is now above Prefix tooltips instead of below them
- Gave hit and death effects to the Hijivarch Crab and Fleer
- The Shatter Crystal no longer activates on tools, and the crystals spawned from melee swords now swing around the player instead of going downwards in a single direction
- Edited the Bloodied Bucket's tooltip to specifically state how long it increases the duration of your ghost minions
- The Gravetender Robes no longer grant reduced mana cost, and instead grants 30 seconds of ghost minion lifespan
- The Seraphim Robes no longer grant reduced mana cost, and instead grants 1 minute of ghost minion lifespan
- Renamed the "Necromancy" buff you gain when you have ghost minions active to "Ghost Minions"
- Gravity/Anti-Gravity blocks no longer only need Sapphire/Amber Gemspark Walls behind them to activate their hidden "Increased Area of Effect", and can now use any wall (+Added a tooltip mentioning this hidden feature of grav blocks)
- Adjusted Gravity/Anti-Gravity block particles to update at regular speed, instead of at the speed of tile rendering
- Both Gravity blocks now use the Stone mining sounds instead of the default "Dirt" mining sounds
- Anti-Gravity Blocks now reverse the gravity of items when they are in its area of effect
- The Bound Bow now shoots a custom projectile, instead of Unholy Arrows
- The extra Locust projectiles from Osiris now only deal half damage
- Super Starites, Hyper Starites, and Ultra Starites will no longer spawn near town NPC houses, UNLESS you are 50 blocks away from the "Source" of the Glimmer
- The Moray herb now only blooms during the Rain, at night -- instead of "if the wind is below 30 mph"
- Placed pearls no longer sway in the wind
- You can now equip the Cosmic Monolith, since Monoliths in 1.4.4 are now equippable
- Starite enemies can no longer be frozen by Snowgrave
- Frozen enemy glaciers created by Snowgrave now draw behind enemies and solid tiles
- Increased the shoot speed and homing capabilities of the Zombie Scepter and Revenant
- Adjusted the vfx of the Zombie Scepter, Revenant, and Osiris
- Ghost Minions converted using the Mindfungus minion now only have 20 flat damage
- Ghost Minions converted using the Brainwave Staff's minion now only have 40 flat damage
- Ghost Minions converted using the Disturbance Staff's minion now only have 75 flat damage
- The Silk Pickaxe can no longer break grass, pots, ect
- Increased the amount of tiles required for a Crab Crevice biome made entirely out of Sedimentary Rock
- 50 -> 150
- The Crab Crevice no longer has a reduced spawn cap
- Crab Crevice enemies can no longer spawn outside of Sedimentary Rock Walls
- Lowered the mining resistance of Sedimentary Rock
- Large "Crab Grass", Pearl Tiles, Sea Pickles, and Gore Nest Stalactites are now always mined in 1 pickaxe swing
- Remade the shaders for Scorching Dye, Frostbite Dye, and Tidal Dye
- Renamed Breakdown Dye to "Ancient Breakdown Dye" and Hell Beam Dye to "Ancient Hell Beams Dye"
- Reworked the vfx of the Red Sprite's thunderclap attack
- Tweaked the death animations of the starite enemies, to be less "snappy"
- Improved the Oblivision's death effects
- Renamed enemies/NPCs will now be able to despawn when out of bounds of the world
- Reworked the visuals of the Pental Scythe to look more akin to the vanilla Demon Scythe
- The Exporter town NPC now uses a [[Exotic Scimitar|Scimitar}} instead of the Terra Blade for its attack
- The Physicist no longer sells the Tornado in a Bottle, and Dust Devil no longer drops the Tornado in a Bottle
- The Occultist now only sells the Black Phial at night
- The Occultist and Physicist no longer sell their paintings at night, and instead only sell them if the Painter is present
- Improved the movement of the Physicist's Drone pet, to be less broken, and to dip into the ground less
Balance Changes
- Buffed Ammo Renewal Pack
- Droprate changed from 1/10(Scales down w/ enemy coins) -> 1/3(Unscaling)
- Swapped the droprates of special ammo and base ammo, meaning base ammo (ex: Musket Ball, Wooden Arrow, ect.) now only has ~1/4 chance to drop instead of the special ammo
- All enemies are now given 2 silver 50 copper for stack scaling, this should make ammo drop in higher quantities in pre-Hardmode, and barely put a dent in Hardmode enemy ammo drop quantities
- Nerfed Snowgrave's ability to melt worms and large groups of enemies, when a wave projectile hits an enemy its damage will be halved, over and over, until it is below 0
- Reworked "Necromancy Candles", they now have a ritual sequence which must finish without you taking damage
- Buffed and tweaked the Rock Man sword to be slightly more usable
- Buffed how much health the Mendshroom's spores give you
- 1 + (maxLife / 50) 11 at 500 HP, 9 at 400 HP -> maxLife / 25 20 at 500 HP, 16 at 400 HP
- Nerfed the Liquid Gun
- Damage: 19 -> 17
- Use Time: 12 -> 15 (3 frames slower)
- Max Ammo: 100 shots -> 75 shots
- Gains 4 ammo per liquid drain instead of 8, costs the same amount of mana
- Buffed the Iceberg Kraken
- 1/6 chance to inflict Frostbite -> 1/3
- Reworked the Pandora's Box
- No longer has the "Ghost minions throw random projectiles at enemies" ability
- New ability: Enemies hit by ghost minions will now take double damage from ghost-minion-conversion debuffs
- Adjusted the stats of the Brainwave Staff
- Damage: 42 -> 23
- Adjusted minion idle position & movement
- Shoots faster
- Now has a small charge animation for shooting
- Projectile now has damage falloff when penetrating targets
- Nerfed and Tweaked the Baozhu
- Damage: 55 -> 40
- Knockback: 7 -> 4
- Base Crit Chance: 4% -> 15%
- Spawns less lingering fire projectiles
- Lingering fire projectiles now deal 1/2 the Damage, 1/10 the Knockback, and move slower
- Overall has slower, less chaotic movement
- Adjusted vfx
- Nerfed and Adjusted the Meathook, to have similar stats to the Dual Hook, and for balancing
- No longer homes in on enemies
- Increased hurtbox size by 17%
- No longer deals damage or connects to enemies when retracting
- Buffed the Bombarder Rod
- Damage: 22 -> 28
- Base Crit Chance: 4% -> 15%
- Use Time: 9 -> 8 (faster)
- Mana Cost: 6 -> 5
- Projectiles now homes in on enemies
- Reduced randomness in projectile velocities
- Heavily nerfed the Surge Rod
- Damage: 65 -> 36
- Increased the mana cost of many of Aequus' magic weapons, since they were consuming mana incredibly slowly
- Umystick: 12 -> 20 (Double Jump cost is still 60 mana)
- Ghastly Blaster: 20 -> 30
- Pental Scythe: 7 -> 14
- Gamestar: 8 -> 14
- Bombarder Rod: 4 -> 6
- Buffed the Ghastly Blaster
- Can now be partially aimed, instead of it doing an arc which doesn't hit that much towards the cursor
- Damage: 58 -> 78
- Nerfed the Soldier Crab enemy
- Defense: 12 -> 8
- Lower damage scaling on projectile
- The Gravetender armor set now uses Demonite/Crimtane bars instead of Rotten Chunks/Vertebrae
- Re-worked the Gravetender's setbonus
- You can now choose which ghost minion you would like to empower
- Empowered minions will no longer lose life over time
Resprites
- Resprited the Astral Cookie and Holographic Meatloaf
- Resprited the Phase Disc, made it emit light and particles, and reduced its knockback
- Resprited the Physics Gun
- Resprited the Brainwave Staff's minion
- Resprited the Occultist town NPC, and reworked the attack she does to protect herself
- Resprited the Triacanthorn
- Resprited the Ammo Renewal Pack, and renamed it to "Ammo Pack"
- Resprited the Noon Potion, Frost Potion, and Sentry Potion
- Resprited and reworked Mirror's Call
- Resprited the Sentry Squid and Iceberg Kraken
- Resprited Pandora's Box
- Resprited the Gravity Block, Anti-Gravity Block, and Physics Block

Removals
- Removed the Phoenix Blaster Recipe config, since Aequus no longer changes the Phoenix Blaster's Recipe
- Removed the word "Inactive" in the names of the Inactive Pylon Cleanser/Healer/Gunner, since it was quite redundant
Fixes
- Hopefully fixed all bugs regarding the Physics Gun duplicating tiles in multiplayer
- Fixed Sentry Squid being... extremely dumb sometimes
- Fixed smashable pots in the Underworld transforming into Crab Crevice pots when below the biome
- Fixed Moonflower, Mistral and Moray herbs having weird names on the map
- Fixed the Baguette's buff having a weird name
- Fixed Oblivision being catchable with a Bug Net
- Fixed an Audio Bug regarding the Shatter Crystal, making it deafen the game for about a second
- Fixed Probes from The Destroyer being unable to be converted using Necromancy Scepters
- Fixed town NPCs accidentally activating the Shatter Crystal's effects
- Fixed the Healer Drone will trying to heal ghost minions
- Fixed the Exporter's quest tiles not syncing their placement across the server
- Fixed sounds which play when inflicting a debuff not syncing across the server
- Fixed custom-swinging swords having bugged-out sizes in Multiplayer to players who aren't swinging the sword
- Capped the Shutterstocker's camera size to 36x36, since photos above that size cannot sync in Multiplayer without causing overflows
- Fixed the Shutterstocker not working at all in Multiplayer
- Fixed the Fertilizer Box not properly syncing its effects across clients
- Fixed Coconut Crabs not spawning in the Crab Crevice, ever
- Fixed an issue where a ghost minion's healthbar color didn't match the aura color in Multiplayer
- Fixed the Ammo Renewal Pack not working in Multiplayer
- Fixed the Glimmer Event ignoring the "Don't spawn near beds" condition in Multiplayer
- Fixed "Soul Candles" not working properly in Multiplayer
- Fixed Pylon Drones not working properly in Multiplayer
- Fixed an exploit with Umystick where you can swap to another item to remove the "cooldown penalty" of using the Right Click ability too fast
- Fixed the Liquid Gun and Umystick glitching out a bit when held via the mouse
- Properly fixed the Glow Beacon bug, but for real
- Fixed all boss summons not working in Multiplayer
- Fixed the Triacanthorn having outrageous armor penetration (It would add 10 extra armor penetration to the next segment spawned, totaling up to 280 Armor Penetration at the tip, and 290 Armor Penetration on the homing tendrils spawned from the tip)
- Fixed Transforming enemies and NPCs (bound NPCs, Wall Creeper|spiders, ect) instantly disappearing when changing forms
- Fixed Organic Energy dropping from Queen Bee in Normal mode, and not dropping from Plantera in Normal mode
- Fixed the Crabax causing accidental infinite mining loops, freezing the game
- Fixed the Iceberg Kraken and Slice claiming they inflict Frostburn when they actually inflict Frostbite
- Fixed the "Flawless" drop condition not properly working
- Fixed the Crystal Dagger's particles spawning inside the player instead of on the blade
- Fixed a minor bug with the Silk Hammer, where it would completely reload the Echo Wall dataset every time you mined a wall
- Fixed Slice bugging out the player's arm rotation, and overall improved how the arm rotation logic for special swords works
- Fixed the Map Name of the Pearl tile being weird, and changed the color of the pearls on the map
- Fixed the Familiar Pickaxe's pet buff having a weird name
- Fixed Blood Mimics being convertible into ghost minions... for like the 10th time... this time forever, hopefully
- Ghost minions now use modded NPC-can-hit logic to determine whether they can hit enemies, this should fix converted enemies with custom collision checks breaking
- Fixed the Dyable Cursor breaking in reversed gravity
- Properly added the recipe for Heliosis
- Properly added the recipe for the Buzzer fishing rod
- Fixed the (now Ancient) Scorching Dye
