The Silk Pickaxe is a Pre-Hardmode Pickaxe sold by the Carpenter. Instead of blocks dropping their regular item, they are guaranteed to drop an item which will be able to replace them later. However, if mining a tile breaks multiple tiles at once, only the tile mined will drop, and all connected ones will not drop an item.

(for example: Mining a Table with a Piggy Bank on it will only drop the Table, and the Piggy Bank will break, but not drop)

If a tile does not have an item to replace itself with, the Silk Pickaxe will refuse to mine it, otherwise, all tiles which can be mined with its pickaxe power are mined instantly.

Its best modifier is Light for harvesting purposes, and Legendary for combat purposes.
