The Revenant is a Necromancy scepter which can convert tier 2 enemies into ghost minions. When used, it fires a blue homing bolt which travels at a fast speed. It is found in Locked Gold Chests in the Dungeon.

It inflicts a debuff which applies 12 damage over time. If the enemy is in the tier 2 group, and they are killed with this debuff active, they will convert into a ghost minion. The debuff also has an instant kill threshold, which is 1/10th of the enemy's total life, capped at 50.

Ghost Minion

Ghost minions converted by the Revenant will have 40 base damage, and move 100% faster than usual.

The minion will have a Blue (#2864ed) aura. However if you are playing PVP in Multiplayer, it will change to be the same color as your current Team.

Tips

• The Revenant can last for much of early Hardmode, as it can convert many of the available enemies.
• The Revenant is very strong in events, especially the Goblin Army, as it can convert the enemies within the events.
  • However, it is advised to get Osiris as soon as possible, as the Revenant cannot convert enemies from the Pirate Invasion.
• Capturing enemies before a bossfight begins, for example: Demons, Chaos Elementals, or Wandering Eyes, can allow you to have ghost minions during a bossfight without needing to use the scepter during it.
• The Hungry can be converted, allowing for the Revenant to be used during the Wall of Flesh fight.
• Bouncy, Crystal, and Heavenly Slimes s can be converted, allowing for the Revenant to be used during the Queen Slime fight.
• Probes can be converted, allowing for the Revenant to be used during The Destroyer fight.
