The Chaos Crawler is a Hardmode enemy that begins spawning in the underground Fractal Wastes after the Selfsimilar Sentinel is defeated and the player has accrued over 15/10 minutes of Fractalizing. It walks on the background walls of the caves, chasing after players and performing a variety of attacks:

• Spins in a few quick circles, attempting to whip the player with its tail.
• Turns around once in an attempt to hit with its tail, longer-ranged than the first previous attack but covering less area in total.
• Fires a barrage of energy projectiles from its segments, which are aimed at the player and disappear on contact with terrain
• Charges at the player at high speed, moving in a straight line at where they were when it began the attack.

Additionally, it has resistance to piercing attacks, making it much harder to kill with such weapons than other multi-segmented enemies like worms.
