The Prototype Launcher firing Prototype Grenades

The Prototype Launcher is a pre-hardmode grenade launcher that can be found in locked golden chest, or rarely dropped from any enemy in the dungeon. It requires Prototype Grenades and very shot fires out a grenade that explodes on impact with tiles or enemies, each grenade has a 1 in 10 chance to explode into shrapnel prematurely. The shrapnel inflicts self damage.

Notes

• Despite being a prototype, the grenades do not harm the user.
  • However the fact that they have a chance to break into shrapnel that can damage the player reinforces the fact that they are prototype
• The shrapnel deals 50% the damage of the grenade

Trivia

• The fact that grenades have a small chance to explode prematurely is due to the launcher being a "prototype" and therefore not fully stable.
