Using both attacks to steal souls from enemies

Nine Lives is a hardmode unique melee spinner-boomerang hybrid weapon crafted from 2 Sickles, Souls of Night, and Souls of Fright. Left clicking causes the weapon to be spun around indefinitely, damaging and knocking back any enemy that comes in range. Right clicking throws out 2 sickles in succession that act like boomerangs, and briefly pause upon striking an enemy for the first time, and also deals 25% more damage.
The weapon has a unique ability in which killing an enemy with either attack captures their soul, with up to 9 souls being able to be captured at once, with the souls visually surrounding the player. Each soul increases the damage and crit of the weapon by 5% and 2% respectively. The souls will begin to escape one by one if no enemies are killed within 9 seconds until all are gone or the player kills another enemy, in which case they will stop escaping for another 9 seconds. Attacking enemies with either attack will slow down the rate at which souls escape, but not prevent it entirely.

Notes

  • The weapons deals 72 damage and has a 22% crit chance with 9 collected souls.
  • The souls actually increase the players overall melee damage and crit, but only while the weapon is being held.
  • The weapon cannot steal souls from enemies spawned via statues.
  • Killing a Soul Cauldron immediately grants 9 souls, as the enemy is literally a cauldron filled with them.
  • The final blow has to be dealt by either attack directly to capture the soul, enemies dying via DoT debuffs or traps do not count.
  • Each soul escapes 1.5 seconds after the previous one did.
  • Attacking with the primary attack adds 5 frames onto the escape timer, and the secondary adds 9 frames.

Trivia

  • This weapon is a reference to Death's weapons from Puss in Boots 2, the name referencing how cats have nine lives, and the tooltip has one of Death's Phrases.
    • The collected souls also resemble Death's head.
