The 2.6 update of Aequus focused on implementing more content, balancing, bug fixes, and other general features.
Additions
- Added Build Buffs, a secondary reward for doing Carpenter Bounties, most buildings will gain a passive buff aura after snapping a successful photo!
- Added the Galaxy's Commision, which increases your range for picking up Build Buffs
- Added Hardmode Chests, which are spawned after Cobalt or Palladium is generated in your world, they contain much more valuable loot, and replace all undiscovered chests
- Added the Iron Lotus
- Added the Aetherial Crown
- Added the Black Plague, an upgrade of the Black Phial and Phoenix Ring
- Added the Blood Curcleav
- Added the Soul Neglectite
- Added the Wabbajack, sold by the Occultist during a Blood Moon
- Added the Manathirst Potion, crafted using the Depthscale
- Added the Chlorophyte Box
- Added the Lavaproof Mitten, sold by the Carpenter after the Demon Siege has been completed
- Added the Broken Mining Helmet, a light pet which spawns in the same way as the Glow Beacon
- Added Gust Dye, crafted with Atmospheric Energy
- Added the Photobook and Peony Photobook, replacing the printed version of the Shutterstocker Clip
- Mimics and Ice Mimics now spawn in pre-Hardmode, with much lower stats (configurable)
Misc
- Added Xenon Bait
- Added a recipe for the Potion of Ressurection
- Added the CREATION and Bread and Bugger paintings
- Added vines to the Underground Forest
- Added a unique effect for Ash Tombstones, having 5 or more allows for Underworld enemies to spawn
- Added a visual effect for when the Fertilizer Box makes a rare tile grow
- Added a visual effect for when the Grand Reward rolls an item to drop
- Added a visual effect for when the High Steaks consumes a coin
- Added equipped sprites for the Occultist crowns
- The Sky Merchant now sells various Slot Machines depending on the Moon phase
- Added sound effects for the War Horn and Black Phial when their abilities is activated
- Added research support for the Bottle O' Spirits and Potion Canteen
- Added the ability for the Pumpinator to extinguish fire debuffs from Allies
- Added the ability to clear a printed Shutterstocker Clip or Pixelgrammer Clip by dunking the item into water
- Damage reduction is now capped at 60%, to prevent exploits to gain 100% damage reduction (configurable)
Cross Mod
Thorium Mod
- Added the Inspiration Cursor, which shows your current inspiration
- The Occultist will now sell various Dungeon chest items from the Thorium Mod
- Slot Machines will now contain various chest items from the Thorium Mod
- The Cure and Liberation from the Thorium Mod now cure related debuffs from Aequus
Others
- Added support for the WikiThis mod
- Added a Boss Checklist entry for the Ultra Starite
Changes
- Sedimentary Rock now converts into Sandstone instead of Hardened Sand when converted using a Clentaminator
- All Pearls now glow in the Crab Crevice
- The Hypnotic Pearl is now much more common, and glows an oscillating Teal color
- Increased the depth of the Crab Crevice, and gave it a surface background to fix the water turning yellow when underground.
- The Sky Merchant will now lower/raise their balloon when nearby, to match the height of nearby players, and will also now sell various items found on Floating Islands
- Crate Bait can now catch Crab Crevice Crates
- Fertilizer Box is now crafted in groups of 3
- Dying with Vampirism will now clear the debuff, preventing you from turning into a Vampire
- Lowered the growth rate of Aequus' herbs
- Tweaked the gfx of many of the custom swung swords
- Bloody Tearstone can now be dropped by any enemy during a Blood Moon, lowered its droprate to compensate
- The Blood Moon fishing items now require Aquatic Energy in their recipes
- Demonic Energy can now be used to craft various Shadow Chest and Underworld items
- Cosmic Energy can now be used to craft various Enchanted and Martian items
- Horrific Energy can now be used to craft various Halloween and Pumpkin Moon items
- Frolic Energy can now be used to craft various Christmas and Frost Moon items
- Pumpking and its Scythes are now in the Heat Damage list
- Many on-hit effects should now work on players in pvp
- The Shutterstocker and Pixelgrammer now inflict a 5 second cooldown, to prevent spam usage
- The Celestial 8-Ball now inflicts a 2 second cooldown instead of needing to be held up for 2 seconds
- The Moro now uses a recipe group for fruits instead of many individual recipes
- The Fishy Fins are no longer vanity, and now provide 20 seconds of Water Breathing when not submerged in a liquid
- The Pylon Healer should now prioritize NPCs over critters, remove debuffs from whatever it is healing, and will ignore anything with the Stinky debuff
- Increased the price of the Pylon Cleanser from 15 to 2
- Lowered the item prices on multiple weapons and accessories, to make them more fair to reforge
- The Moonluna Hat is now crafted using Fallen Stars instead of Cosmic Energy
- The Sky Merchant now spawns much more commonly in towns, more commonly during the early morning and early night, and extremely commonly when holding the Pumpinator
- Changed the selectable list of names for many of Aequus' Town NPCs
- Bullets fired from the Hitscanner now have trails, to show how the bullets actually travelled
- The White Phial no longer increases the duration of buffs which have a duration lower than 1 minute, and updated its tooltip to be more descriptive
- Tweaked the gfx of the Starite Staff minion
- "Passive Damage" helmets now state the damage they deal again
- Updated many tooltips
- Reworked the Regenerative Bait, making it an Accessory
Balancing
- Reworked the Breath Conserver
- Starite Staff damage decreased from 24 to 20
- Dart Trap Hat no longer grants 10% increased summon damage
- Venom Dart Trap Hat now only increases summon damage by 10% instead of 20%
- Super Dart Trap Hat now only grants 1 minion slot instead of 2
- Reworked the Storm Cloak
- The Worm Scarf+The Reconstruction combo now deals 30 damage instead of 60
- The Mallet now deals 16 damage instead of 17 damage
- The Bloodthirst Potion now makes all healing applied over time instead of instantly
- Lowered the damage difficulty scaling of the Starite and Super Starite
- Slightly lowered the life and damage difficulty scaling of Hyper and Ultra Starite
- Increased the damage of Omega Starite
- Halved the catchrate of Depthscale and Leecheel, so they should be caught about the same amount of times as other Corruption/Crimson fish
- Holding the Ultimate Sword now grants +8 defense and knockback immunity
- Holding the Crystal Dagger now grants 10% increased movement speed and acceleration
- Increased the length of the Moonluna Hat's constellation trail
- Reduced the health of the Blood Mimic (125 / 250 / 375) -> (100 / 200 / 300)
- Flameblaster
- Ranged reduced to be about the same as the vanilla flamethrower
- Re-added the ability for the Flameblaster to shoot its flames foward via right click, allowing for a long distance attack
- Spicy Eel
- Secret Luck Bonus: 0.05 -> 0.03
- Removed all "Acceleration" bonuses
- Changed many of the remaining stat bonuses to be Flat instead of Multiplicative
- Raised the droprates from all enemies which can drop Spicy Eel, making it more common
- Super Long Leech
- Damage: 12 -> 6
- Armor Penetration: 0 -> 5
- Range: 20 blocks -> 17 blocks
- Velocity: 16 -> 13
- Now deals damage and heals the player constantly, this results in this item getting an overall buff
Resprites
Cross Mod
- The Physicist's Census entry now properly states they move in after defeating Ultra Starite instead of Omega Starite
Fixes
- Fixed the Crab Crevice water being buggy on sloped/half block tiles
- Fixed a tooltip error on the Super Dart Trap Hat, where it says it increases summon damage by 50% when in reality it is only 40%
- Fixed an issue with custom swinging swords and melee speed bonuses
- Fixed the Moonluna Hat granting 10% increased summon damage instead of +1 minion slot, as the tooltip says
- Fixed the Rock Man biome purposely generating inside structures, instead of outside of structures
- Fixed Hellfire and Frostbite not working with several "debuff" effects
- Fixed inconsistent rarities on the energies
- Fixed the Ultra Starite defeated flag being preserved between worlds
- Fixed the Hellbat, Cindera, Magmabubble, and Trapper fireballs, and more not being in the Heat Damage list
- Fixed the Super Starite's projectile accidentally be half size in its sprite
- Fixed the Energies and Supernova Fruit rendering improperly in the inventory
- Fixed the Pylon Cleanser never moving to the left
- Hopefully fixed a crashing bug regarding the Piranha Pot minion
- Fixed there being an "Aequus Prefix", as it was an unintentional side effect from internal code
- Fixed the Carpenter having the Forest and Underground happiness dialogue swapped
- Fixed Splash Potions sometimes not colliding with other players
- Fixed the Fishing Spot Sign not working in multiplayer
- Fixed Equippable Cursors only working in the vanity slots
- Aequus herbs can now be properly harvested with the Staff of Regrowth, and fixed their seeds being able to place ontop of ungrown herbs, wasting seeds
- Blood Mimics should no longer get stuck on blocks
- Fixed a bug with the Phasebrink, where if you did its "combo effect" while the boomerang is returning, it will not have collision and leave the other boomerang behind inside tiles
- Fixed the Galactic Starfruit breaking the Glimmer event in multiplayer
- Fixed the Fertilizer Box actually being bugged, preventing it from functioning at all
