The Sky Merchant is an non-town NPC vendor that spawns randomly in Space during a Windy Day event, however due to his movement, he can fly down to the Surface, this is most common on small worlds however.

The Sky Merchant's "Rename" option allows you to change the name of items, and has a unique interaction with the Rename Tag, allowing it change the names of NPCs.

They sell many random and unique items similarly to the Traveling Merchant, including the Pumpinator, which allows you to start and end a Windy Day at any time.
