The Coughwood Sword is an alternate version of the Wooden Sword made using Coughwood from The Contagion biome. It has slightly higher speed than the Corruption's Ebonwood Sword and the Crimson's Shadewood Sword, but deals less damage and knockback. With it being stronger than the other wooden swords, it can be useful early on, though one should proceed with caution, as the Contagion is a very dangerous place for players early on.
Its best modifier is Awestruck.

Notes
- The Coughwood Sword can only be obtained in worlds that generated with The Contagion. If one has a Corruption or Crimson world, they can either create an artificial Contagion to obtain the sword, or just simply bring one in from a Contagion World.
Trivia
- The Coughwood Sword's sprite is very similar to that of the Wooden Sword, however, there are some notable changes. The color of the sword is darker than the normal Wooden Sword. The cross-guard also appears to have two pointy protrusions on either side. Unlike the Ebonwood and Shadewood Swords, it does not have protrusions on the blade's sides.
