The Outbreak is a Hardmode magic weapon that creates a large circular spread of dust at the cursor's location. It has a 20*1/5 (20%) chance of being dropped by Contagion Mimics.

The Outbreak will damage enemies within the circle immediately upon use, dealing less damage if the amount of enemies struck is greater than 1. It has a 33.33*1/3 (33.33%) chance to inflict the Poisoned debuff and a 20*1/5 (20%) chance to inflict the Pathogen debuff.

Its best modifier is Phantasmal.

Tips

• As it does not get obstructed by blocks between the player and cursor, the Outbreak can be used to safely attack enemies through blocks at any position on the screen.

Notes

• The duration of the inflicted debuffs is 10 seconds divided by the amount of enemies hit.
