Purple Haze is a Hardmode magic weapon that fires a large spread of mist, inflicting the Pathogen debuff for a duration of 7 seconds.
Purple Haze is the Contagion counterpart to the Corruption's Cursed Flames, the Crimson's Golden Shower, and the Hallow's Crystal Storm, all of which require a Spell Tome and ingredients exclusive to their underground biome counterparts.
Its best modifier is Phantasmal.

- It can be seen as a Hardmode upgrade to the Smogscreen, which has a similar effect with lower damage.
- In the Exxo Avalon source mod, this weapon was called the Pathogen Mist.
- The name "Purple Haze" is a reference to the stand ability of the same name from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, which itself is a reference to a song of the same name by Jimi Hendrix.
