Coughwood armor is an armor set consisting of a Coughwood Helmet, Coughwood Breastplate, and Coughwood Greaves.

It is crafted solely from Coughwood harvested from Contagion Trees. It acts as the Contagion counterpart to the Corruption's Ebonwood armor, and the Crimson's Shadewood armor. It is the most powerful Surface Pre-Hardmode wooden set, though it still pales in comparison to most other armor sets.

Wearing a full set grants a set bonus of 1 additional defense, providing a total of 7 defense.

Notes

• Coughwood is initially obtainable in Contagion worlds only. An artificial Contagion biome can created using materials from another world or by buying Contagion Seeds from the Dryad while in a Graveyard, but such things are not part of normal game progression.

• The appearance of the helmet is based on a suggestion by forum user Skulgan on their thread titled "Exxo Avalon - Re-Imagining the Contagion".
