Selfsimilar armor is a Hardmode armor set that consists of the Selfsimilar Breastplate, Selfsimilar Greaves, and one of four class-specific helmet variants: the Selfsimilar Faceplate for melee weapons, Selfsimilar Visor for ranged weapons, Selfsimilar Hood for magic weapons, or Selfsimilar Mask for summon weapons. With the effects of all three pieces active, the health-reducing effects of Fractalizing are pushed back to begin at 15/10 minutes of the debuff and once it begins its effect is halved, allowing much more extensive stays in the Fractal Dimension up to 30/20 minutes before it is guaranteed to kill. Additionally, depending on the specific helmet used, one of four additional class-specific buffs are applied:
- The Selfsimilar Faceplate grants an additional 10 defense and boosts melee damage by 10%, and provides a shield of fractal energy while moving that resembles the Solar Flare armor's set bonus. It points in the direction of the player's momentum as they move, deals rapid damage and heavy knockback to any enemies that touch it, and provides the player with invulnerability frames for a short time after hitting with it.
- The Selfsimilar Visor boosts the critical hit chance of ranged weapons by 18%, and halves the chance for them to consume ammo, and has a chance to spawn 1-5 floating crosshairs made of energy at the cursor's position when dealing ranged damage, which explode and deals further damage about a second later. One crosshair will appear directly on the cursor, while the others appear nearby and travel towards it.
- The Selfsimilar Hood grants an additional 60 maximum mana, boosts the damage and critical chance of magic weapons by 6%, and will spawn a stationary sword-shaped energy projectile at the player's position when consuming mana (i.e. using magic weapons) with a short cooldown time between each one, which will float in place until the button is released and then fly towards the cursor at high speed, piercing through enemies and disappearing on contact with tiles.
- The Selfsimilar Mask boosts summon damage by 24% and grants the player two additional minion slots, and summons five orbs of energy above the player's head that periodically fly out to attack nearby enemies before returning. The middle orb is larger than the other two and does significantly more damage, and on impact they will spawn further wisp projectiles that home in on nearby enemies, phasing through terrain and disappearing on hit.
