The Convective armor is a Hardmode armor set that consists of the Convective Armor, and Convective Leggings, and one of four class-specific helmet variants: the Convective Faceplate for melee weapons, Convective Helmet for ranged weapons, Convective Hood for magic weapons, or Convective Mask for summon weapons. Equipping the full set causes varying effects depending on which helmet is chosen, and enabled a unique, heavily damaging attack activated by pressing the Convective Set Bonus key (K by default); this effect has a 10-second cooldown, indicated by intensifying waves of heat rippling off the player as it recharges with a burst of particles when it is ready to be used again. The effects are as follows:

• The Convective Faceplate increases melee damage by 17% and melee speed by 5%. Its attack is a large circular explosion centered on the player that reaches about 16 tiles in all directions.
• The Convective Helmet increases ranged damage by 17% and ranged critical strike chance by 5%. Its attack is a thin beam of heat fired towards the cursor with infinite range.
• The Convective Hood increases magic damage by 17% and max mana by 60. Its attack causes an eruption of fireballs to fly up from off-screen below the cursor's position, which soon lose speed and begin to fall back down, capable of hitting enemies multiple times.
• The Convective Mask increases minion damage by 17% and grants an additional minion slot. Its attack summons three convective vortex minions to follow the player and attack nearby enemies; they ordinarily circle about over their head and despawn just before the effect recharges, but they will charge at nearby enemies and fly in a straight line off-screen that causes them to despawn.

Crafting a full set requires 42 Mantellar Bars (168 Mantellar Ore) and 7 Wanderer Plating, as well as a full set of Molten armor (45 Hellstone Bars, or 135 Hellstone and 45 Obsidian).
