The Aerogel armor is a Pre-Hardmode armor set that consists of the Aerogel Hood and Aerogel Robe. Equipping the full set causes the player's movement speed to be increased significantly and provides immunity to On Fire! and Burning, potentially providing a viable alternative to the Hermes Boots. However, it provides no defense and as such is difficult to utilize effectively in normal combat, so it is best used alongside the highest-tier greaves possible. It is also useful for acquiring flawless items in combination with the Strange Obituary, as defense is no matter when the player dies instantly to any hit and the added mobility is a major boon.

Crafting a full set requires a total of 60 Clouds, 35 Gel, and 25 Shadow Scales or Tissue Samples.
