The Temple Guardian is an enemy that spawns in the Jungle Temple post Plantera, it attacks by hovering above the player and firing a damaging laser that passes through tiles, before moving to a random position above the player and firing another laser. Only one will spawn at a time.
Temple Curse variant
If a player has any of the temple related items in their inventory before Plantera has been defeated a status message warning the player the curse is activated, and after 8 seconds up to 6 will quickly spawn to ambush the player. These variants have the exact same attack pattern as the normal ones, however they are immune to all damage, and will flee and cease attacking if the player removes the item from their inventory. They also deal no contact damage.
Notes
- The Temple Guardian's attacks cannot be halted by attacking it, and it is able to pass and attack through tiles.
- Parts of it glow in the dark, making them easier to see.
Trivia
- Before if the player simply entered the temple pre-Plantera then they would spawn and ambush the player, its bestiary references this old behaviour.
