Pre-Boss

Start as you would in the vanilla game, gather basic materials, build a few NPC houses, collect Life Crystals. Try to find Hermes Boots or its variants. If possible, try to explore Space for floating islands and Moon Shrines.

Pre-Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu

After defeating your first boss, your options begin to open up. Loot made from Demonite and Crimtane can now start to be crafted, the Goblin Army and Endogorth can be challenged, and the Snow Legion that follows it. By now it is also assumed you have access to Transformation Enchantments through use of the Enchanting Crystal.

At this point you should have bested both Luna and Drakon and gained full access to the Hellstone tier of equipment and mined Aeroslate in Space as well. You can also kill Queen Bee for extra gear.
