Not to be confused with Endoforge, a crafting station dropped by Endogorth.

Endogorth is a pre-Hardmode boss that can be fought in the Snow or Ice biomes. It is one of the first bosses that can be fought in the mod.

Defeating Endogorth will allow access to Frostrate Bars.

Spawn

Endogorth can be summoned manually using a Irregular Ice Crystal in the Snow or Ice biomes at any time.

Irregular Ice Crystals can be obtained via crafting or being dropped from the decorative icicles that generate in the Ice biome with a 2.5*1/40 (2.5%) chance. Alternatively, Irregular Ice Formations drop them when destroyed with a pickaxe or drill.

Behavior

Endogorth has three subphases, each of which has the same attack patterns but generally cycles faster than the previous. It will progress through these phases as it loses health.

Leaving the Snow biome will cause Endogorth to enrage, doubling its speed and granting it 50% damage reduction.

Attacks

Subphase 1

  • Slowly chases their target, trying to get above them. When they get above the target, they will stop for a short period of time, and then slam down until they collide with any tiles.
  • Chase directly after their target, with slower vertical chase speed.
  • Will begin to spin slowly for 3 seconds. After the spin they will begin to rapidly chase their target, now with spikes extended, increasing their damage by 33%.
  • Slows to a halt and begins shooting a large volley of gravity affected Anarchist Mod/Ice Chunkschunks of ice in the direction of their target.

Subphase 2

  • Transitions at 50% / 65% / 75% health.
  • Cycles through all previous attacks faster.
  • Chases after their target, trying to get above them. When they get above the target, they will begin vomiting Anarchist Mod/Ice Chunkschunks of ice to fall on the target.

Subphase 3

  • Transitions at 5% / 10% / 15% health.
  • Cycles through all previous attacks significantly faster.

In Expert Mode

  • Summons Anarchist Mod/Frost Fang EndogorthIcicles from the sky, imitating rain/snow, that deal damage, all throughout the fight.
  • Overall moves faster.
  • Performs the slam attack 4 times instead of 3.
  • Slams down 33% faster.
  • When colliding with a tile after slamming, several Anarchist Mod/Ice Chunkschunks of ice will fly from the ground into the air.
  • While chasing with slow vertical speed, Endogorth will extend their spikes when close enough to their target, increasing their contact damage by 33%.
  • Endogorth will vomit projectiles faster.
  • While charging up the spin attack, Endogorth will take 33% less damage.
  • While lobbing ice chunks at their target, Endogorth will take 25% less damage.

In Master Mode

  • Performs the slam attack 5 times instead of 3.
  • Overall moves much faster.
  • Endogorth will vomit projectiles faster.
  • While charging up the spin attack, Endogorth will take 40% less damage.
  • While lobbing ice chunks at their target, Endogorth will take 33% less damage.
  • While lobbing ice chunks at their target, Endogorth will additionally slowly move in the direction of the target.

In Pandemonium Mode

  • Moves ridiculously fast while spinning.
  • Lobs ice chunks at an absurd rate.

Notes

  • Upon spawning, Endogorth will cause a Blizzard to begin.
  • Upon defeat, Endogorth will force the rain to stop. This can be useful if it is raining and you would not like it to, you can simply kill Endogorth.
  • Only one Endogorth can be summoned at a time. Nothing will happen if the summon item is used while Endogorth is still present or if the user is not in the Snow biome.
  • Endogorth's summon requires an Endoforge to craft, and this often leads to some confusion.
    • The Irregular Ice Crystals can also be obtained through destroying Irregular Ice Formations found in the Ice biome.
    • The Irregular Ice Crystals can also drop from decorative icicles that generate in the cavern layer with a 2.5*1/40 (2.5%) chance.

Tips

  • Endogorth's ice rain projectiles in Expert and Master mode may be difficult to see, but to compensate, they deal low damage. Knockback immunity could alleviate them almost entirely.
  • A grappling hook or dash could help avoid Endogorth's slam attack.
  • While Endogorth is vomiting projectiles down upon you, it can be helpful to move slower instead of faster to avoid them.
  • When lobbing various ice chunks at you during their final attack, it can be easier to dodge them when standing directly underneath them or at a great distance.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Endogorth: "A chunk of ice animated as a guardian of some ancient race. It has preserved itself for centuries while its creators have long fallen to extinction. Ironic."
  • Endogorth's theme is Snow Flurry, which is composed by beanieswag.
    • If the Anarchist Music add-on is disabled, Boss 1 will play instead.
  • If the Boss Checklist Mod is installed, its unique despawn message will be "Endogorth retreats back to its hibernation."
