The Basic Egg is the first tier of bee-hatching eggs. They can be dropped by bosses and some enemies, and they can be purchased from the Noob Bear at any time.

Depending on progression, the buy price will scale accordingly:

• After defeating the Eye of Cthulhu: 5,000
• After defeating the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu: 10,000
• After defeating Skeletron: 25,000
• After entering Hardmode: 50,000
• After defeating any Mechanical Boss: 100,000
• After defeating Plantera: 200,000
• After defeating Moon Lord: 400,000

Alternatively, they can be looted from the following enemies:

• Ladybug / Rhino Beetle (0.7% chance)
• In Hardmode: Ladybug / Rhino Beetle (1.5% chance) or Mantis (3.1% chance)
• After defeating Plantera: Ladybug / Rhino Beetle (1.5% chance) or Mantis (6.2% chance)

Or dropped by the following bosses:

• King Slime (100% chance on first defeat, then 2.5% / 5% / 6.6% chance)
• Eye of Cthulhu (100% chance on first defeat, then 5% / 10% / 12.5% chance)
• Eater of Worlds / Brain of Cthulhu (only after first defeat, 5% / 10% / 12.5% chance)
• Queen Bee (only after first defeat, 6.25% / 12.5% / 16.6% chance)
• Skeletron (only after first defeat, 10% / 20% / 25% chance)
• Deerclops (only after first defeat, 20% / 33.3% / 33.3% chance)

The chances of hatching a bee of specific rarity from a Basic Egg are:

• Common: 87%
• Rare: 10%
• Epic: 3% (Chance is lowered to 2.5% in Hardmode or Master Mode due to the introduction of legendary bees)
• Legendary: 0.5% (Only in Hardmode or Master Mode)
