The Dissolving Aether is a pre-Hardmode crafting material dropped by the Otherworldly Spirit. Since killing regular spirits requires extremely high damage, the only reliable source of Dissolving Aether is defeating The Advisor's spirit. While in the inventory, the player's gravity will be decreased.
While wearing the Exotic/Ultimate Polarizer, the Dissolving Aether's sprite will flip upside down and its effect while in the inventory will change to increasing magic damage by 3% per item, up to 12%.
