Genesis and Ragnarok are craftable Hardmode melee weapons. When used and fully upgraded with the use button, Genesis (the main weapon) performs a 5-hit combo where it thrusts a spear, swings a whip, throws a double-bladed spear, and swings a sword twice. When used with the alt-use button, the player brings up Ragnarok, (the shield) which can reflect certain projectiles and is thrown when the alt-use button is released. If the weapon is upgraded at least twice, the player can press the use button while Ragnarok has been thrown to attach Genesis to Ragnarok and swing Ragnarok around themself in a large circle. All of these attacks, when the weapon is fully upgraded, will create additional ice or electric projectiles.

Its best modifier is Godly.

Notes

• The aforementioned upgrades are tied to the player, so if they somehow lose the weapons, they can retain their upgrades.
• Full upgrade additional projectiles:
  • Spear: Fires a lightning bolt. Creates an explosion on collision with an enemy.
  • Whip: Creates Ice Sickles as it travels. Creates an explosion on collision with an enemy.
  • Double-bladed Spear: Fires lightning bolts in 5 different directions as it travels. Creates an explosion on collision with an enemy.
  • Sword: Fires 3 Ice Shards in an even spread. Creates a lightning storm on collision with an enemy.
  • Thrown Shield: Fires lightning bolts in 5 different directions as it travels. Creates a spinning Ice Shard on collision with an enemy.
  • Swinging Shield: Fires lightning bolts at the cursor. Creates a spinning Ice Shard on collision with an enemy.

Trivia

• The forms of Genesis are made to resemble weapons from the Mega Man Zero series. Spear form -> Triple Rod, Whip form -> Chain Rod, Double Bladded Spear -> Triple Rod/Chain Rod charged attack, Sword -> Z-Saber.
  • Additionally Genesis' Sword form is made to resemble Omega's first form sword.
• Similarly, Ragnarok's use and function replicates that of the Shield Boomerang but in all directions rather than just horizontally.
