Hardmode chests is a mechanic of Aequus that changes unopened chests and its content upon breaking an Altar.

Additionally, Underground Mimics will disguised as Adamantite Chest instead of Gold Chest.

The loot for a hardmode chest

The bars it contains will depend on the ore types available in the current world, and if certain ore hasn't generated, the bar won't be changed. In the drunk world, the bar it contains will be randomized.
The arrows and bullets it contains depend on the chosen world evil, or will be randomized in drunk world.
Eligible potions will generate with a modifier.
