Corrupted Seeker is a pre-Hardmode boss that can be fought anywhere once the Eater of WorldsEater of Worlds/Brain of CthulhuBrain of Cthulhu is dead. While it is optional, it is highly recommended as the Corrupted Weapons are good for Queen BeeQueen Bee and SkeletronSkeletron.

Defeating Corrupted Seeker will cause the opposite world evil to generate in 4-6 random spots underground.

The Corrupted Seeker has the Corrupted, Inorganic, Metalic, and Boss tags, and is immune to the following debuffs: PoisonedPoisoned, DarknessDarkness, BleedingBleeding, ConfusedConfused, SlowSlow, ChilledChilled, FrozenFrozen, Acid VenomAcid Venom, BlackoutBlackout, SlimedSlimed, PenetratedPenetrated, CelledCelled, Dryad's BaneDryad's Bane, Charred Mod/CorruptingCorrupting, Charred Mod/CrystalizedCrystalized, Charred Mod/HealingHealing, Charred Mod/StungStung, and Charred Mod/VenomVenom, as well as taking extra damage from Charred Mod/MeltdownMeltdown and Charred Mod/Strange GrowthStrange Growth

Summoning

Corrupted Seeker can be summoned by tossing a Charred Mod/Purified NutPurified Nut.

Behavior

Spends a few seconds to spawn in, destroying the Charred Mod/Purified NutPurified Nut that spawned it and starting the fight.

Alternates between two different attacks:

  • Dashes towards the player 3 times. Between each dash, every Mini-Seeker dashes towards the player from outside of the screen, indicated by purple dust flying in their direction.
  • Tosses 8 blades towards the player, which arc towards the player. Tossed blades alternate between arcing left and right. Every toss, half of the existing Mini-Seekers dash towards the player.

Before each attack, spawns up to 2 Mini-Seekers immediately, capping at 6 total Mini-Seekers. Any existing Mini-Seekers drift around.

When all players are dead, all Mini-Seekers and the Corrupted Seeker aim upwards and dash away. The Mini-Seekers will do this when the Corrupted Seeker dies.

In Expert Mode

  • Dashes an extra time.
  • Spawns an extra Mini-Seeker.

Upon hitting 75% health (3375 / 4218 health, Corrupted Seeker enters a 7.5 second transition period. After 3 seconds, random Mini-Seekers will have their energy stolen and used to heal the Corrupted Seeker by their remaining health. This process takes 3 seconds total and is skipped if there are no Mini-Seekers alive. 1.5 seconds after this ends, the fight enters phase 2.

Uses a random cycle of 4 attacks:

  • Tosses its blades to form a circular arena around the player with dust. All Mini-Seekers will dash towards the player at once, leaving short-lived dust as they dash by. This is repeated 3 times before the Corrupted Seeker itself dashes through the arena and picks up its blades, ending the attack.
  • Starts spinning around the player at an increasing speed and tosses its blades rapidly across the arena it forms. While the blades are being tossed, Mini-Seekers dash one-by-one towards the player. On the last few blade tosses, all of the Mini-Seekers dash towards the player once. After the 50th toss, the Corrupted Seeker will slow down, ending the attack once it stops moving.
  • Dashes off-screen, and starts to rapidly dash behind the player shortly afterwards. A few seconds after it starts dashing, all of the Mini-Seekers accelerate towards the player in a wall formation from behind the player. The Corrupted Seeker leaves dust to ensure the player doesn't try to go back the way they came. The attack ends after the Corrupted Seeker dashes 25 times.
  • Tosses its blades to form an elliptical arena, guarded with dust. When the blades are about to collide, the Corrupted Seeker dashes towards them to pick them up. Mini-Seekers also dash perpendicular to the Corrupted Seeker's dash direction. This is repeated 10 times before the attack ends.

Before each attack, spawns up to 6 Mini-Seekers immediately. Any existing Mini-Seekers drift around.

In Master Mode or For The Worthy

  • Corrupted Seeker, Mini-Seeker, blade, and dust size all increased by 10%.

Phase 1

  • Dashes once more.
  • Tosses 1 / 2 extra blades.
  • Spawns an extra Mini-Seeker and Mini-Seekers are spawned faster.

Phase 2

  • Phase transition is 20% shorter and Mini-Seekers heal 10% more life.
  • Mini-Seekers dash towards the player an extra time in the first attack.
  • Mini-Seekers dash more often in the second attack.
  • Mini-Seekers accelerate slightly faster in the third attack.
  • Blades have reduced spread and Mini-Seekers cover more area.

Notes

  • Corrupted Seeker can only move through dashing.
  • Mini-Seekers have the same enemy tags as the Corrupted Seeker.
  • If the Boss Checklist Mod is installed, its unique despawn message will be "All of the purity has been corrupted."

Aftermath

  • After you defeat Corrupted Seeker, 4-6 random splotches of the opposite world evil will generate in random spots underground.

Tips

  • Due to the reliance on dashing, getting plenty of distance from the Corrupted Seeker will be easy.
  • Focusing on the Mini-Seeker minions will make attacks easier to dodge, as those minions serve as extra attacks during the Dash and Blade attacks.
