The Astral Communicator is a Hardmode item used to summon the Astrageldon superboss. It can be used at any time of day in the Astral Infection biome while on the surface, and is not consumed upon use. If Astrageldon's first phase has been defeated prior, the item will summon Astrageldon in its second phase when left clicked, and summon it in its first phase when right clicked.

After the Moon Lord has been defeated, if Astrageldon hasn't been defeated yet, the item's sprite breaks and it becomes unusable, locking off Astrageldon.

Notes

• With the Calamity's Vanities mod enabled, the item can also be used in the mod's artificial Astral Blight biome.
• The lock on the item is indicated by a status message, meaning that dying to the Moon Lord will not cause the item to become unusable.
  • This means that the player can clear the Lunar Events then die to the Moon Lord if they wish to fight the boss without any pillars active.
• The item can not be used underground.
