The Vagrant of Space and Time is a Pre-Hardmode boss, intended to be battled after the Eye of Cthulhu.

Spawning

The Vagrant of Space and Time does not spawn naturally, and can be summoned by using The Shattered Disk, which is granted after defeating the Eye of Cthulhu.

Behavior

The Vagrant of Space and Time uses a set order of attacks throughout the fight. He is constantly moving during the fight as well as teleporting.

Telegraphed attacks:

These attacks are telegraphed via a charging bar that appears below the player. These first appear roughly in order from top to bottom, as follows.

• Demi-Protokia: A giant sword falls above towards where the player is located.

• Vorpal Barrage: Teleports away from the player and summons a bow witch shoots 3 stars towards the location of the player.

• Starfall: 5 stars appear above the player shooting down to the player.

• Inverse Starfall: 5 arrows appear under the player going upwards to the player.

• Star Sundering: Summons a star above him that explodes after a small delay, launching 4 projectile in cardinal directions. Those 4 projectiles each explode into 8 smaller stars that go in in the cardinal directions and diagonally.

• General Relativity: Blocks the player into a Square like area (45 blocks, centered on the players feet) teleporting the player to the other side if a border is touched (or the nearest unobstructed location).

• Demi-Protokia: A giant sword falls above towards where the player is located.

• Microcosmos: Creates a portal witch summons projectiles in a spiral.

• Advanced Relativity Traps the player in a vertical or horizontal rectangle and upon touching one of the borders the player will be teleported to the opposite way.

• Vorpal Assault: Materializes a lance and launches himself towards the player.

• Vorpal Siege: Materializes a bow and shoots 5 projectiles towards the player.

• Meteor Shower: Fireballs erupt into the air spreading out around the arena before falling down.

• Hyperturned Starfall: Summons a rain of stars witch falls on the player.

• Hyperturned Inverse Starfall: Summons many stars under the player going upwards.

• Vorpal Snipe Materializes a bow which shoots 3 stars straight towards the player.

Aftermath

After defeat, the Vagrant reveals himself to be a Starfarer named Perseus and that he was testing the player. Perseus gives more information about the role of Starfarers and what happened with the first Starbearer. Before leaving, he reveals that he gave the player's Starfarer the ability to cast Stellar Novas.

Once the boss is defeated:

• Stellar Novas are unlocked for the player.
• More bosses of the mod are available if other requirements are also fulfilled.
• Some Hardmode Essences become available.

Tips

• Mobility is key here. Horizontal and vertical movement speed is really useful in avoiding many of his attacks.
• Different attack of this boss has significant difference in damage. For example, his Demi-Protokia attack deals much more damage then others and thus should be treated with utmost caution.

Trivia

• Before version 1.4 of the mod, the Vagrant was invincible and had a different set of attacks. He could be "defeated" by surviving a specific amount of time while being bombarded with various attacks.
• Before version 1.4 of the mod, the Vagrant was the only boss who did not speak during battle.
  • This trait is now shared with Thespian, the Act of Alchemy and Dioskouroi, the Twin Forces.
• The Vagrant of Space and Time's theme is Chart the Cosmos, which was composed by Echo Lane.
  • This theme is shared with Tsukiyomi's first phase.
• The Vagrant of Space and Time's old theme was called "Cosmic Will".
  • This is one of the few tracks in the mod to be originally composed.
  • The Vagrant of Space and Time was also the first boss in the mod to have it's own theme.
• His Demi-Protokia attack is also a Stellar Nova, a trait shared with some of the other Bosses of the mod.
