The Huntsman
Sniper's Unlocked Primary

The Huntsman is a primary weapon for the Sniper. Holding Use / Attack slows the Sniper down and fills up the weapon's charge meter. When released, an arrow is fired. Damage is increased based on charge percentage and charge is lost upon firing or unscoping. When maximum charge is reached, a critical hit is guaranteed. If charged for too long, accuracy decreases from fatigue and can be reset by pressing Open / Activate.

Notes

  • Since the Huntsman uses local immunity frames, it means that it does not lose any damage output due to invincibility frames.
  • A fully charged Huntsman does 360 base damage.
  • The Huntsman cannot randomly crit.
  • This weapon cannot scope like the Sniper Rifle as it's not considered as one.
  • Arrows are affected by gravity.

Strategies

  • The Huntsman is one of the best weapons for dealing medium to long-ranged damage.
    • Since this weapon supports focus shot, the Sniper can fire arrows and stop worrying about missing his target. It is also recommended to only use focus shot due to the weapon's slow rate of fire.
    • The Sniper may want to switch to his medium-ranged weapon, like the SMG if his target is too close.
  • Always fire fully-charged arrows as the weapon has a very slow firing speed.
  • Arrows are affected by gravity. Therefore, aiming is key.
  • Make sure to not hold Use / Attack for too long or the Huntsman's accuracy would decrease.

Trivia

  • The Huntsman originally had automatic charge.
    • However, this was changed due to overcoming technical limitations.
