The Sol Moth Staff is a craftable Pre-Hardmode summoning weapon found in the Fable Biome. The staff summons a minion that teleports to enemies, leaving behind a yellow trail showing where it teleported from. These teleports create explosions that prove most effective in situations where enemies are very close together

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stats bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only significant advantage a Mythical Sol Moth Staff has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
