Sangvious M16A1 is a Hardmode Assault Rifle and an upgrade to the M16A1. It is crafted using Souls of Fright, Parapluic Vials, an M16A1 and Memory Fragments.

Right-clicking with this weapon causes you to launch a beacon, named a Marker of Betrayal, that buffs your stats whenever one is active. It can damage enemies within a large AoE hitbox, but will slightly lower those buffed stats in return whenever the beacon makes its first hit. Beacons deal 16 damage rapidly to its targets with no knockback similar in fashion to a damage-over-time debuff.

If the player's current health is below 33% max health, the weapon will fire Napalm Bomb bullets instead of normal bullets. While the Napalm Bombs behave like Molotov Cocktails usually, its initial hit inflicts Thermite Burst instead of the usual On Fire!, which its residual flames inflict.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

  • Sangvious M16A1 fires four shots, each one with a delay of 4 ticks, for a total of 16 ticks. The delay between one burst and the next is 13 ticks. One complete use of this weapon (including delay) take 29 (average use time) ticks.
  • Using the right-click functionality reduces the weapon's use time to 45 (very slow speed).

Trivia

Warning: The trivia section here contains major spoilers to various source materials. Open at your own risk.

  • The right-click function of this weapon is M16A1's Marker skill as seen in her boss battle in Girls' Frontline, after injecting herself with Parapluie in Chapter 8E (as referenced in this weapon's crafting recipe). This boss battle debuted with Singularity and returned in three future story events, Isomer, Shattered Connexion, and Polarized Light.
  • The tooltip "Shikikan, I'm already a demon" references Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This is a quote from Big Boss, one of M16A1's conceptual inspirations. The original quote starts with "Kaz" instead of "Shikikan". (main player character of Girls' Frontline)
  • This is one of the only craftable guns in the mod based on a playable Tactical Doll from Girls' Frontline (discounting enemies made playable via Protocol Assimilation), albeit not currently in this weapon's form, to require an Demon/Crimson Altar to craft rather than anvils. This is because of the villainous nature of said gun's respective T-Doll. The only other weapon to share this trait is RPK-16.
  • The Napalm Bombs fired by this weapon and its predecessor upon the user reaching low health is directly named after the Napalm Bomb special weapon from Mega Man 5. Its main user, Napalm Man is named after the incendiary used infamously in the Vietnam War, the same war in which the M16A1 in real life was first used.
    • In her Sangvis Ferri form, M16A1 and Napalm Man share common traits of being villainous robots both with (partially) nominal ties to the Vietnam War in what they use/are based off of.
