RPK-16 is a Hardmode, post-Plantera machine gun. It is currently crafted using Souls of Fright, Souls of Sight, a Minishark, a Key of Night, a Defiance Class Core (dropped rarely from Skeletron Prime), a Legendary Class Core (purchasable from the Officer) and a Tundra Culture. It has built-in zoom capabilities like the Sniper Rifle and has a 66% chance to not consume ammunition.

The RPK-16 will turn any fired bullets into Renate Rounds that will additionally slash hit targets, damaging them up to three times for each bullet hit. The slashes are called Pandora's Severing Gifts.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

• RPK-16 has less potential for high DPS compared to most machine guns of its rarity (and the Vortex Beater/Chain Gun) due to overwriting most bullets, including Crystal Bullets, with ones that adhere to most enemy immunity frames.

• RPK-16's internal name within the mod is Alpaca. This is a nickname attributed to RPK-16 that is a play on words on the pronunciation of "RPK" sounding similar to "Alpaca".
• The projectile named Renate Round reference RPK-16's given/real/civilian name of Renate.
• The projectile named Pandora's Severing Gift reference the codename given to RPK-16 while under the process of joining the ranks of Paradeus, one of the villain factions of Girls' Frontline, Pandora. The name Pandora references the Greek myth of the figure of the same name and the "box" she is often attributed with. Pandora's box is often depicted as a chest or some other container that is meant to stay closed and never opened, if ever opened it releases limitless evils into the world. This is why the RPK-16's crafting recipe includes a Key of Night as one of its ingredients.
• The tooltip "A moment of your nightmare" is referencing the title of story event Mirror Stage's main theme song, A Moment of My Nightmare. Mirror Stage is the event infamous for where RPK-16 has been revealed to be a traitor to her team, DEFY, and Angelia. The word "my" is changed to "your" to reflect on the shifted point of view of the player using the RPK-16 gun themselves.
• This is currently one of the only craftable guns in the mod based on a playable Tactical Doll from Girls' Frontline (discounting enemies made playable via Protocol Assimilation) to require an Demon/Crimson Altar to craft rather than anvils. This is because of the villainous nature of said gun's respective T-Doll. The only other weapon to share this trait is the Sangvious M16A1.
