Progression
Frost Legion
Main article: Frost Legion
The Frost Legion has been completely overhauled, now being a post-Skeletron event. It contains a new enemy and boss. The Frost Legion can be initiated by killing a Snow Angel with more than 200 maximum health.
Jungle Mimic
- Jungle Mimics have been re-added, acting very similarly to the other Biome Mimics.
- Jungle Mimics now have a banner.
- Jungle Mimics drop the Seedler, Leaf Blower, Thorn Hook and Seedling.
- Plantera no longer drops the Seedler, Leaf Blower], Thorn Hook and Seedling.
- Seedler's damage has been reduced from 50 to 33.
- Leaf Blower's damage has been reduced from 48 to 15, has 25 armor penetration and can pierce up to 1 target.
Meteorites
- Meteorites are not locked behind Eater of Worlds/Brain of Crimson, and can fall from smashing Shadow Orbs and Crimson Hearts again.
- Additionally, the chance to fall has been increased from 50% to guaranteed.
- Meteorite can now be mined with explosives after defeating Eater of Worlds/Brain of Crimson, instead of after Hardmode.
- Meteor Head's health is increased from 26/52/78 to 50/100/150, and its defense has been increased from 6 to 15.
Mechanics
Hearts and Stars
- Hearts have a 10% chance, unaffected by luck, to drop if the closest player does not have full health. They restore 20 health when picked up.
- Stars have a 100% chance to drop if the closest player does not have full mana. They restore 50 mana when picked up, and cannot be picked up by players with maximum mana.
- Hearts and stars despawn after 8 seconds in Master Mode.
Mana regeneration
- Mana Sickness has been reworked to be more similar to Potion Sickness.
- All Mana Potions now give 15 seconds. Additionally, Mana Sickness is also capped at 15 seconds.
- Mana Sickness does not reduce magic damage anymore, instead preventing usage of mana potions.
- Potion Sickness has been renamed to Healing Sickness for parity. Additionally, both buffs have a new icon sprite.
- Mana regeneration is no longer reduced whilst moving.
- Mana regeneration delay is shorter overall, and low mana shortens the delay instead of increasing it.
- The vanilla values are from 0.75 (maximum mana) to 4.75 (minimum mana) seconds.
- The new values are from 1 (maximum mana) to 0.5 (minimum mana) seconds.
- Items that reduce mana regeneration delay are now 50% less effective.
Movement speed
- The player's acceleration is increased from 0.08 to 0.15, nearly doubling it.
Respawning
- In singleplayer, the respawn timer is always 10 seconds on all difficulties.
- In multiplayer, the respawn timer is 30/60 while a boss is currently alive.
Tile Placement
- The player's base tile placement speed is increased by 25%, and wall placement speed by 17%. However, using any other item halves tile and wall placement speed for 2 seconds.
Tombstones
- Tombstones' hit points are reduced from 300% to 100%.
- Tombstones no longer drop from players and NPCs, being craftable at a Heavy Work Bench instead.
NPCs
Enemies & Bosses
- Bosses in Master Mode no longer drop Hearts and Healing Potions.
- Enemies in Expert Mode no longer drop a variable amount of coins, and higher difficulties no longer increase the amount of coins dropped.
- Enemies in Expert Mode can no longer steal coins. However, half (all) of your coins are permanently removed on death.
- Enemies immune to Bleeding are also immune to Blood Butchered.
- The Moon Lord's drops have been changed. 200 Luminite is always dropped, and all weapons alongside Meowmere Minecart are removed. They are now crafted instead.
- The Moon Lord's screen filter is disabled.
- The Celestial Pillars now always drop
fragments.60 + (playerAmount * 30)
- The Celestial Pillars's death sound is replaced with the Moon Lord's.
- Several enemies that are small or face the screen, and have more common methods of attack, no longer do contact damage.
Town NPCs
Some vanilla NPCs have new items sold under certain conditions.
Items
Accessories
- The Band of Starpower can no longer be obtained from breaking Shadow Orbs or opening Corrupt/Defiled Crates, being replaced with the Shock Absorber. The Band of Starpower is instead always sold by the Skeleton Merchant.
- The Megaphone can now be used as a tool, letting you talk to Stoffie.
- The Soaring Insignia no longer grants infinite flight. Instead, it halves flight time.
- This will result in different flight lengths with the flight time reduction and speed increase, depending on the wings the player uses.
Ammunition
- Any ammunition that has negative damage subtracts damage instead of adding, cancelling out the damage reduction.
- For example, Star Cannon deals 54 damage instead of 55 because items, including Fallen Stars, have a default of -1 damage. This is now fixed, and Star Cannon deals 55 damage now.
- GaMeTerraria re-balances many ammunition items by changing damage, velocity and knockback.
Consumables
- Life Crystals, Mana Crystals and Life Fruits can not be stacked in the world. Intended for Dave Mode.
- Paint and Dyes can now be drunk by the player, dealing 50 damage.
- Death by drinking paint or dyes will have a unique death message: ""Maaan, that color tastes interesting," said <Player name>."
- The Wormhole Potion teleports you to Grug's World if drunk like a normal potion.
Food
- Well Fed, Plenty Satisfied and Exquisitely Stuffed are no longer mutually exclusive and cannot be cancelled by right-clicking.
- Food items can only be consumed if the player does not have its respective buff.
- Consuming a food item will give a specific effect for the duration of its buff.
Tools
- The Dirt Rod can now catch dirt balls in mid-air.
Weapons
- The Amber Staff is now a Super Weapon.
Wings
- Some wings have been reworked to have different stats, making them weaker and more situational.
- Despite the tooltips, gliding speed currently is not changed.
Other
- The sun in the background is replaced with Stoffie. Stoffie also has a variant if the player is wearing Sunglasses.
Localization
- Several localization lines have been changed.
