Dave Mode is a new difficulty mode enabled in For the worthy and, by extension, Get fixed boi worlds. It introduces many changes, most being frustrating, throughout the whole game.

The following seeds can be used to activate Dave Mode:

• ​for the worthy
• ​fortheworthy
• ​get fixed boi
• ​getfixedboi

Changes

World Generation

• No pots are created upon generating the world.
• Most blocks will not be sloped upon generating the world.

NPCs, critters, and enemies

• No initial Town NPCs spawn at world spawn (The Demolitionist in For the worthy, the Party Girl, Princess, Steampunker, Tax Collector and Diva Slime in Get fixed boi).

Gameplay

• The player's starting inventory will be empty in For the worthy, and will have 5 Scarab Bombs and 99 Rope in Get fixed boi.
• Pickaxes, drills, axes, chainsaws and hammers cannot break blocks anymore. Instead, the player is forced to use bombs and other unconventional ways of breaking blocks.

Other

Dog.

• An Unregistered Hypercam 2 watermark is constantly displayed at the top left of the screen.
• All sounds are randomly pitched.
• Buffs are displayed vertically and always show their name and tooltip.
• During parties, the screen will be tinted rainbow and "lol disco" will be displayed above the player, hiding any recent messages they've sent.
• In Hardmode, a frames per second counter will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen. Additionally, a message to activate Windows will be displayed in the bottom right corner.
  • If the player is in Get fixed boi, the FPS counter will be rainbow. If the player is in For the worthy, the FPS counter will be yellow if the framerate is above 15, and red otherwise.
• The moon will be replaced with a cropped image of a Bichon Frisé.

Dave

Dave.

• Rarely, the player may get a call from Dave.
  • Upon joining a world, the player gets immediately called. Afterwards, it can take from 2.5 minutes to 30 minutes to get another call, with a 1 in 13 chance for Dave to call you in 15 seconds.
• The call is presented as a choice to pick up Dave's call or not, during which a special ringtone will play.
  • There is a 1 out of 3 chance when the call starts, or a 1 out of 6 chance when hovering over the decline button, for the buttons to swap.
  • If the player is in Hardmode, the panel may appear at any place on the screen. Otherwise, it will appear at the center.
  • If Golem has been defeated, the interface will bounce around the screen, mimicking the DVD-Video logo.
• When accepting a call, the interface disappears and one of the following random events may happen.
  • A Dungeon Guardian may spawn to the left or right of the player.
  • All empty slots in the player's inventory will be filled with 1 Worm. Additionally, the stack of the highest quality worm will be increased by one.
    • The worm quality, in order from lowest to highest, is as follows: Worm, Enchanted Nightcrawler, Can of Worms, Gold Worm.
  • If the player doesn't have maximum health and mana, drops Life Crystals, Mana Crystals and Life Fruit from the player, with the amount being how many they have consumed. Otherwise, drops a Life Crystal Boulder above the player.
  • Tries to shimmer the player's selected item. Otherwise, tries to shimmer the first valid item in their hotbar.
  • Puts the player into debt, making them pay 100,000 dollars (10). If the player is already in debt, it adds 10 more to their debt. If their debt is above 1, it is also paid off by 1.
    • Debt is payed off for every coin the player has in their inventory, Piggy Bank, Safe, Defender's Forge and Void Vault. Tax money also goes into paying off debt.
• If the player has a Magic Hat in their helmet slot, a Gi in their shirt slot, a Kimono in their social shirt slot and a Diamond Ring in their first accessory slot, several changes will happen.
  • The buttons will not be swapped.
  • The game will not block player input during the call.
  • The Dungeon Guardian event will never happen.
  • The stat boost event will only drop the Life Crystal Boulder.
