Shrines (Avalon)

Shrines are small structures which can generate anywhere in the Underground and Cavern layers, except for the Lava Shrine, which only generates in the Lava layer of the Caverns. Each world is guaranteed to have one of each shrine. They house two chests containing unique loot.

Evil Shrine

An Evil Shrine generated in the Underground Jungle biome.

The Evil Shrine will contain items from the Corruption, the Crimson, and the Contagion biomes, and can contain items from any of these biomes regardless of the world's primary evil biome.

It is made up primarily of Ebonstone Bricks, Crimstone Bricks, Chunkstone Bricks, and Obsidian Walls, as well as Ebonstone Pillars, Crimstone Pillars, Chunkstone Pillars, Stone Doors, Bone Torches, Demonite Ore, Crimtane Ore, and Baccilite Ore.

Ice Shrine

An Ice Shrine generated in the Underground Desert biome.

The Ice Shrine will contain items from the Ice Biome, as well as other snow themed items.

It is made up primarily of Ice Bricks and Ice Brick Walls, as well as Wood Platforms, Boreal Wood Doors, Ice Torches, Frozen Lamps, and Frozen Sofas.

The shrine contains two paintings randomly selected from the list below:

Lava Shrine

A Lava Shrine generated in the Underground Jungle biome.

The Lava Shrine will contain items from The Underworld, as well as other fiery themed items.

It is made up primarily of Lava Moss Bricks, Hellstone Bricks, and Magma Walls, as well as Obsidian Platforms, Obsidian Doors, Red Torches, Demon Torches, Obsidian Lanterns, Lavafall Walls, Lava, and Hellstone. The lava spawns in a small pool in the center of the structure below the entrance, with Hellstone and Hellstone Bricks covering the interior edges.
