El Capitan's Hardware in use.

The El Capitan's Hardware is a craftable Hardmode Spatial ranged weapon that is obtainable after all Mechanical Bosses have been defeated.
Its best modifier is Unreal.

In Game Description

Attacks with this weapon pierce foes and bounce off walls up to 4 times.
Striking foes charges the Renegade Gauge (Critical strikes grant more charge).
Striking bosses grants bonus charge to the Renegade Gauge .
Once the Renegade Gauge is above 50%, right-click to consume the Renegade Gauge , swapping weapons and firing a Gyro Disk that lasts for 4 seconds.
The Gyro Disk automatically targets and attacks nearby foes.
If the Renegade Gauge is higher than 50% on activation, the Gyro Disk gains bonus damage proportional to the extra amount consumed.

Notes

• The Gyro Disk can go through walls, however it's projectiles cannot.

Trivia

• The weapon's sprite, projectiles and tooltip are a reference to the Jak and Daxter series.
  • The visuals and projectiles reference the Morph Gun, the protagonist's weapon, more specifically two of it's variants: the Beam Reflexor and Gyro Burster.
  • It's tooltip referes to a line from one of the second game's cutscenes.
