The Necronomicon is a craftable pre-Hardmode spell tome that serves as a Sentient variant of the Book of Skulls. It casts out fast Chomping Skulls that stick to hit enemies for 1 second, rapidly dealing damage to them before breaking. Only 1 Skull can be attached to an enemy at once.

Its best modifier is Demonic for damage output, or Mystic for mana conservation because it cannot get modifiers that affect knockback.
