Omega Pirate is a Hardmode boss meant to be fought after Plantera. It is a large Space Pirate that has been corrupted by Phazon. It has pronounced features and weapon systems ingrained into its back. It is the only source of Pure Phazon.
Spawn
The Omega Pirate cannot spawn naturally. It is summoned by using the Phazon Reactor Core at any time.
Behavior
When first summoned, the Omega Pirate will fall from the sky next to the player. It begins attacking after it stands up, and will attempt to walk into the player while attacking with the following:
- Swiping at the player with its claws, creating a slash that travels a short distance
- Firing explosive projectiles from the weapons on its back
- Targeting two beams from the weapons on its back before firing lasers
- Slamming down its claws, emitting a large shockwave that grows before shrinking
- If the player is too far, the Omega Pirate will yell then pounce at the player. When it lands it will immediately perform its shockwave attack.
If the player is standing above the Omega Pirate, it will jump at them. It is able to clip through blocks to do this.
During these attacks, it may also raise its hand and create a siphon that will absorb any attacks from the Arm Cannon. If too much damage is absorbed into the siphon, the Omega Pirate's next attack will be empowered.
- The laser attack turns yellow and fires faster.
- The shockwave attack is yellow, goes higher and further.
The appendage that does the attack will also turn yellow just before the attack.
Once all four appendages of Omega Pirate have been weakened, the Omega Pirate will be stunned and transform into its Phazon Form. In this phase, the Omega Pirate will become invulnerable and invincible, with the only indicator if its presence being its laugh. Afterwards, it will appear and attempt to reform its body. It is vulnerable during this time, and if enough damage is dealt to it, the Omega Pirate will be stunned and disappear again. It continues in this phase until its regenerates its body. Afterwards, the Omega Pirate will return to its original appearance and its appendages must be destroyed before it can be damaged again.
Tips
- The siphon of the Omega Pirate will draw projectiles into it. Refrain from attacking during it.
- The Power Bomb, Screw Attack, and Speed Booster, however, can go past the siphon and damage the appendages.
Trivia
The Omega Pirate is from the first Metroid Prime game, and is required to be defeated in order to obtain the Phazon suit in that game.
