Poseiron's Trident is a Hardmode throwing weapon that drops from Duke Fishron or his Treasure Bag. It acts as a javelin, flying very far before falling. It continually releases groups of three homing bubbles that deal a third of the trident's original damage. The trident itself always inflicts Frostburn for 7.5 seconds and Oiled for 5 seconds, but the bubbles don't inflict any debuffs.

Trivia

• Poseiron's Trident is based on a similar (but unusable) weapon in the 2011 rhythm/strategy game Patapon 3 called Poseipon's Trident. Poseipon's Trident acted as a spear with high base damage and a chance to freeze enemies, referenced in Magnumiactus by the Poseiron's Trident inflicting the Frostburn debuff. Rather unusually, despite it being seen in official art, Poseipon's Trident can never be obtained in-game without the use of cheats.
• Unlike other weapons dropped from Duke Fishron, which have a rarity of 08*, the Poseiron's Trident has a rarity of 09*.
• "Poseiron" is a combination of the name of the Greek god Poseidon and the flying creature-related suffix -ron, much in the same vein that "Poseipon" is a combination of Poseidon and the common Patapon suffix -pon.
