The Silent Scalpel is a Hardmode sword. It is bought from the Arms Dealer for 1110 during a Blood Moon or Solar Eclipse as long as the player has a Kord in their inventory. Upon hitting enemies, there is a chance that a blood glob will fire off from struck enemy, heading to the player to heal them. If the blood glob happens to hit any enemy, they'll be inflicted the Psychobleeding debuff, making them lose 16 health per second.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Tips

  • The Silent Scalpel becomes less useful against the Moon Lord because of the Moon Bite debuff it can apply to the player, disabling the life-stealing effect of the blood globs.
  • The nature of how its blood globs appear is similar to The Horseman's Blade's flaming jacks in only "true melee hits" can spawn the projectiles. It carries the same risks that the Psycho Knife has, but is made a bit safer on a melee option despite its slower use time due to the lifesteal effects of the blood globs.

Trivia

  • This weapon is a reference to the Dead Silent Dancer costume able to be worn by Kord. The weapon is derived from the similarly-depicted knives seen in her non-damaged artwork and chibi victory animation.
    • Both this weapon and Kord's costume are explicit homages to the Silent Hill franchise of games by Konami, specifically referencing the iconic Nurse enemies often seen in the games.
    • The tooltip quote is the same one that first appeared in the opening credits for Silent Hill (video game), the first game in the series.
    • Unlike with the chibi victory animation from Kord's Dead Silent Dancer costume, the weapon cannot be currently thrown as an alternate fire option via Open / Activate.
