The Shining Needle Sword serves (despite its name) as a Hardmode spear. With each stab, it generates a needle-shaped projectile. In addition, it has an alternate fire mode which shoots a hook that pulls enemies towards the user. Enemies which are invulnerable to knockback (such as bosses and worms, for example) won't be affected. The cooldown of the alternate fire is 2 seconds. In addition, the alternate fire is unavailable while a previous hook still exists.

It is available for purchase at the Curio Trader after defeating a Tier 6 Boss.
